All aspects of the renovations were very detailed and explained thoroughly. I wanted to take a moment to send you a heartfelt THANK YOU, for my amazing kitchen. It's been about 2 months since I moved back into the house and I spend as much time in my beautiful kitchen as possible. I'm in awe every time I stand in it because I can't believe how amazing it is. Everyone who sees it, is in shock with the transformation.
I really appreciate the time and effort all of you put into the project, and the attention to detail.
Brent-I think I have pretty good instincts about people, and I had a good feeling when I hired you to renovate my very ugly kitchen. You completely made me feel at ease from beginning to end. June, Just wanted to let you know that that was pretty cool cooking last night's supper in the new kitchen!!!
Your idea to put the sink in the corner was kind of like the old Panasonic Genius....an innovative and smart moment! What it meant last night is that there was a ton of food preparation space to the left of the sink heading to the stove (plenty of room for two cutting boards), and there was still room immediately to the left of the sink along the angled part for cooking utensils/recyclables that had to be rinsed off or washed by hand. Plus there was all that counter room above the dishwasher for dirty stuff that had to go in the dishwasher. And to the left of the food preparation area there was still ample room to park the ingredients that were to go into the Dutch oven but for which there was no need for preparation. And that still left the single counter on the other side of the kitchen to place the bowls, glasses and cutlery for the evening meal. And the lighting was perfect.
One could almost say that this cool new kitchen experience of last night made the food taste better, and certainly made food preparation easier. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our lives a bit simpler.

To Brent Young and the staff at Carleton Kitchen Creations – Chris and I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for our exceptional kitchen renovation. In the early spring of 2008 we decided to renovate our kitchen – we had listened to many horror stories by friends and family and were quite anxious about putting such a large project in a complete stranger’s hands. Two of my work friends raved about CKC and the renovations that they had. We figured what better references than friends.
We enlisted the help of a Beaulieu Designs – within days, Charlene came up with 7 design sketches for us to look at. We asked her about CKC and she said that this was one company, in the Ottawa area, she worked with. She found Brent and his Team very professional and someone she would have no hesitation in recommending to us.
The actual renovations started June 16th and by September 7th we were back in our totally redesigned kitchen – this was an extensive renovation with the kitchen being gutted, walls being removed, new windows and doors, new appliances, lighting and then the all important cupboards, island etc. We had only 1 Change Order and that was at our request to install hard wood flooring in the family room adjacent to the kitchen.
Paul was the on-site Project Manager and he and his sidekick Ed were part of our family for three months. We could not have asked for nicer gentlemen. They were extremely professional, kind and always very respectful of working in our home. We felt by the end of the project that they were actually new friends.
Brent did what he promised me when I first met him – once he started, he would finish within 3 months. A business man who kept his word – amazing!! Every week we would get a call or e-mail from Brent asking how things were going and if we had any problems. Our “angel” Charlene was on site weekly, if not more often, making sure the design was being followed.
The end result is a wonderful kitchen that definitely has a WOW factor. There is not one thing we would change. Chris and I enjoy cooking in our new kitchen and entertaining family and friends.

Just wanted to say again, if I haven't already, how fantastic a job the guys did on the bathroom. The tile job by Derrick is superb and when I think of all the running he did for almost every "cut" up and down the stairs - phew! Paul too, is very professional in his work and did his share of going up and down those stairs also! He had his work cut out for him with all the "ripping out", carrying things in and out plus the complicated plumbing design too.

We just want to share with you how much we are enjoying our newly renovated kitchen. After many months considering different approaches and meeting with design experts at other companies we were fortunate to meet with Karri. Her design talents, knowledge of all those “little things” we hadn’t even envisioned, attention to detail and desire to ensure that we are completely happy with the finished product (without breaking the bank) were key to the success of our project.
We are very happy with the quality of our cabinets, and we were very impressed with the trim work completed by your installer. Of course with any project of this size, occasional unforeseen glitches do arise and our project was no exception. However any issues that did arise were immediately resolved through the efforts of you, Karri, the cabinetmaker and the installer together with your granite supplier.
Clearly customer satisfaction is of major importance to you and we are 100% satisfied with our kitchen both in terms of the finished product and the value for the money we spent. As mentioned earlier we spent considerable time shopping for a kitchen and ultimately we found your pricing to be excellent, slightly less than a number of other kitchen shops and not a great deal more than what we were quoted for off the shelf, non-custom built and not installed cabinets from the big box stores.

Paul Miller did a wonderful job of adjusting to our needs and finding solutions for changes or modifications to the design. Paul is a true Master Carpenter. Major advantage to our project. Brent had the supreme wisdom to choose Paul as our lead carpenter and also to recommend that great idea for a single light over the sink.
This project was so special for Tara and me because of the effort and skill we feel we put into every detail of the layout and the execution of the plan. It started with the simple decision to remove the arch ceiling and to lengthen the kitchen windows. We are proud of the fact that our artistic vision was reproduced to perfection. All along our strong desire for colour harmony found itself in every aspect of the construction, from the choice of where the colour blue would be to ensuring that our fridge was of minimal size and paneled. Our organic white counter top was the perfect substitute for both marble and granite.
As you know, in preparing for this project Tara and I reviewed a lot of kitchens. We feel that nobody has a kitchen like ours because it is a unique expression of our design personality and style.
We spent so much time on planning with CKC as well as selecting, verifying every item and even sourcing several items, such as the farm sink, molding, floor tile, wall tile, Windows, door, knobs, chair rail, wallpaper, appliances, etc. It was like a second vocation for Tara and me.
Very rewarding experience to work with such a professional firm as CKC Group. So it was clearly a successful collaboration. Congratulations to the team!

After six months of using our new kitchen, we remain extremely pleased with the design, functionality and aesthetics. The elimination of inaccessible corner cupboards and the addition of pot drawers, a microwave shelf, and many other functional features makes the entire kitchen very efficient.
The selection of quality cabinetry was important to us and the cabinetry we selected has not disappointed us. The cabinet design and construction, the quality closures and features all work extremely well and look aesthetically pleasing.
Finally, we would like to thank the staff at Carleton Kitchen and Bath for their professionalism and great work designing, project managing and installing the new kitchen. Karri, Lynne and Paul are terrific individuals and a pleasure to work with. We would highly recommend this team and cabinetry to others considering this type of renovation.

It's hard to believe that it's already been almost three months since the lovely renovation of our bathroom. We have been asked by everyone who has seen the bathroom - and there have been many - what company did the work for us. Anyone who saw the bathroom before the renovation has been doubly impressed with the result of your design and execution. Karri, your sensitivity and patience were so greatly appreciated as we made the choices of decorating materials. You should know that your idea of putting the accent tiles on the tub surround and in the shower on the vertical have received rave reviews. 🙂 As for me, I delight in the room every time I enter it.
As you know, one of the most important aspects of the renovation for us was that whomever was doing the work would be cognizant and respectful of the fact that they would be dealing with a very old, well-loved home. With your team, we got that in spades. Derrick and John were just amazing, both in how well they handled any challenges that occurred as well as my natural tendency to be trepidatious. 🙂 As a matter of fact, from the first time we met with you both, we felt totally comfortable that your team could provide us with the professional service that we required.
Another important aspect for us was that the work be done in a timely manner once the project started. We were so pleased with how well everything was timed and organized - from our first consultation to the last day of work on the project.

With an aging ensuite bathroom in a 1980’s property my wife and I wanted to have a significant redesign and renovation but didn’t know where to turn for quality work. After some considerable searching and following the recommendation of friends we tried the costing and design service offered by the CKC Group and Beaulieu Design services: the thoroughness of the design and clear project management skills of CKC were such that making a decision to move forward with this team was an easy decision.
Beaulieu Design services were involved with the project throughout the design and build process – attending to the details with the renovation team, addressing unforeseen obstacles with us where decisions were required and following up with us at every stage of the project. We have been delighted with the design, which goes well beyond what we could have hoped for at the outset: a beautiful and very practical design with breathtaking attention to detail.
The standard of workmanship provided by CKC was outstanding and the quality of the trade professionals again exceeded our hopes. The attention to detail by the CKC team was truly outstanding: in instances they would rework an area that did not meet their critical eye (that may have otherwise been acceptable to us). The level of communication was as good as we could have hoped and reassuringly the CKC team would update us on progress against plan usually on a daily basis.
We had no hesitation contracting the CKC and Beaulieu design team again for the renovation of our kitchen, ground floor bathroom and retile of our entire ground floor. Again, CKC’s project management discipline and quality of craftsmen resulted in a final product that was exactly as we had agreed and finished on time and on budget. CKC’s attention to detail, management and communication is unparalleled in our experience.

After 25 years with the same old bathroom, we decided we needed a change and turned to Carleton Kitchen and Bath. It was a good choice and the entire experience from planning to installation was superb. We highly recommend them!
The renovation started with a visit by Brent and Jessica. We were impressed by the consultative questions we were asked about the bathroom. It got us thinking about what we were trying to achieve; it helped us focus on the precise look and feel for the room. After that, we worked with Jessica on the tiles, the colours, the vanity, mirrors, faucets, towel racks... you name it. She was not only patient but helpful in pointing out the pros and the cons of our suggestions. In addition, she did not overwhelm us with way too many choices.
Once we had made our selections, Jessica reviewed the entire work project and time frames, step-by-step. This was extremely beneficial because it gave us peace of mind knowing what was to be done and when.
The deconstruction of the old bathroom was conducted without a hitch by Derrick and Riley. We could not have asked for two better workers. They were always on time, they worked diligently, and the communicated every step of the way. If they were going somewhere or if they were going to be a bit late, they let us know. It was courteous and respectful. As for the installation, these guys know their stuff. Fast, efficient and very professional. Ultimately, they transformed that tired old bathroom into ...well... a modern, clean, well crafted space with beautiful tile, a walk in shower with full length glass doors, a refurbished vanity with a quartz counter top that looks like it's from the Ritz. The bathroom is bright and airy.
The work was finished on time and on budget. The project was reviewed again by Brent and Jessica to ensure our satisfaction. And when we needed a couple of adjustments here and there, Derrick and Riley showed up, cheerful as ever and helped us out.
So here's the bottom line: the experience was SO positive that Carleton Kitchen and Bath will be doing some additional work in our house ... and the next major project is the master bathroom.

Just a note to let you know how much we appreciated your services this summer with our kitchen renovation, as well as to let others know how impressed we were:
We did an extensive renovation, which involved amalgamating 4 independent rooms (kitchen, living room, dining room and breakfast room) into one now rather spectacular open concept space. We had initially thought of trying to redesign just part of the area, and in our journey of trying to determine what to do, Carleton Kitchen & Bath took the time to provide us with a series of designs that gave us an idea of what was possible - ranging from a more modest renovation that would use the elements already in the space - to a full renovation of the entire area. These designs allowed us to see exactly what could be, and gave us the opportunity to decide what it was we wanted to do with the house without any concerns that we were not looking at all the options. Having consulted with two other firms prior to calling Carleton Kitchen & Bath, I can say that taking the time to provide multiple options is not the norm in this industry, and we greatly appreciated their efforts in this respect.
In the end, we decided to renovate the entire area and could not be more pleased that we did. The scope of renovation included taking down structural walls, moving utilities, putting in new windows, matching new flooring to old, ripping out a staircase and installing a significant amount of cabinetry and new electrical work. Forethought was also given to any possible future renovations to the unfinished loft space above the kitchen, and all electrical and utility plans ensured that access would be available from above without having to disturb the new renovation. All of the work was done in 12 weeks, in accordance with all proposed timelines and on the exact budget we signed off on. Brent oversaw the project and was always available to us if we needed to touch base. Charline designed the kitchen and routinely checked in to ensure all was going according to plan. Derrick and Andre - who were the ones here every day doing the work - we cannot say enough about. The amount and quality of work they accomplished each day was extraordinary. We saw them each morning for a brief chat about what the day held, and every night we came home to a pristine renovation site that had been swept, vacuumed and had all tools and materials neatly stacked in a corner with an air purifier running. Both Andre and Derrick were happy to address any questions we had, and on the odd occasion when they called about a minor choice than needed to be made, we trusted them enough to tell them to make it for us. We were fortunate that there were no hidden surprises or issues that came about in renovating our house, but had we encountered those types of issues, we have every faith they would have been dealt with efficiently and effectively given our experience with Carleton Kitchen & Bath and the level of service they provided.
We were able to live in our house during the course of the renovation, but had we needed to leave the property, we would have had no issue leaving the house in the hands of Carleton Kitchen & Bath, even for extended periods.
We were very lucky to have made the right choice in company for our first (and quite extensive) renovation. We have many friends who have not had our experience with other firms. For any future renovations, we will not even go to the trouble of consulting other firms, we'll just return to Carleton Kitchen & Bath.

Lorie, having done renovations himself, was truly pleased with not only the work the boys did but the willingness of everyone to work with him on plans and design.
Karri and Lynne were so very patient as we shuffled through our own ideas and balanced those off with their designs and suggestions.
We enjoyed watching Derrick and Andre work so well together, and fast! They always cleaned up thoroughly before leaving and were very understanding of my screaming and cheering throughout the Olympic hockey games!!
Recovering from Heart surgery kept Lorie on the side lines for the first time ever, and he had to admit it was a great experience knowing that it was being done right and up to his high standards. The boys were very aware of his surgery and lifting limitations and even helped him out with small daily chores when they thought he needed it 🙂
You have put together a GREAT team there. I would protect that with my life if I were you! It's so unusual to see everyone work so well together and extend that work ethic towards the clients as well.
